Spellbinder Saturday: More Janitor Excitement!

As easy as A, B, C . . . from HA

The Janitors are at it again. Back in September of 13, we did a review of The Janitors by Tyler Whitesides. It Janitors 2introduced us all to Spencer, Daisy, and the Rebel Janitor faction fighting against the bad guys of The Bureau of Educational Maintence (BEM). The BEM used to fight against toxites, but, now, they’ve increased their efforts causing the toxites to suck the smarts out of kids in schools.

Janitors 2: Secrets of New Forest Academy continues the story begun in Book 1. The Janitors move Spencer to another school to protect him from the BEM. Unfortunately, their plan—surprise—went awry. The purpose of this review is to talk about the plot without giving anything away. This is the tricky part.

I would love to tell you about the story, the plot twists, the unexpected bad guys, the unexpected good guys, the surprises lurking behind every chapter, the exciting car (well, sort of) chases, all the wonderful, dare I say “spellbinding”, things you’ll find at New Forest Academy. But I don’t want there to be any bad feelings because I dropped too many spoilers into the discussion. Let’s leave it with the book having everything listed here… and more.

If you read the first one, chances are you’ve already read this one and possibly the third in the series (which I’ll be reading in the not too distant future). If you haven’t read the first, what are you waiting for???

Tyler Whitesides worked as a janitor at an elementary school to put himself through college, so he has the background in the janitorial realm. It wouldn’t surprise me if he still carries a baggie of vacuum dust around with him. He lives in Logan, UT with his wife, who teaches 3rd grade.
