Everything is being rebooted lately: Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Sherlock Holmes, etc. New beginnings of familiar stories.
My book, A Hint of Forever, is no different. As I reported last time in my Work-in-Progress entry, I was up to 141 pages and realized the book had grown to an unmanageable level due to changing plot lines, additional characters, necessary backstories that were missing, etc. that a reboot became not only necessary, but essential.
So the story has begun anew. It’s familiar to those who have read the earlier version and those who haven’t won’t be any the wiser.
Fifty-seven pages into it right now. Characterizations are richer, backgrounds are more clear, some characters are being brought in earlier and some are being done away with altogether. The story is tighter. I have a more clear vision of where the story’s going.
I like it.
See you day-after-tomorrow for Friday’s Friends
