Easy as A, B, C . . . from HA
Usually, I talk about the author a bit before I discuss the book. I’m going to save the author info for last this time.
Benotripia: The Rescue is a hoot-and-a-half. Only 122 pages long, it’s a fast read, but filled with as much action and adventure as several-hundred-paged tomes. I told Brenda “If you took Eragon and removed all the backstory, the endless descriptive sections of every square-inch of scenery and just kept the adventure part, this book comes pretty close.”
The author doesn’t forget to fill out her characters, however. She does it as she weaves her tale of kidnapping (of the Queen, no less) and rescue (by the Queen’s eleven-year-old daughter. Yes…I said eleven.)
Benotripia is a great read for the 7+ crowd; Moms who read to their kids will find this one entertaining as well. The book is available for order in paperback through The King’s English Bookseller, Amazon in paperback and Kindle edition, and Barnes and Noble in paperback and Nook book. Also available at the Costco in West Valley. (It’s where I got mine.)
Here’s the scoop on the author: McKenzie is, like the protagonist in her story, eleven. (Just found out she had a birthday in December. She’s twelve now. She was eleven when Benotripia was published.) Not only is she twelve, Benotripia is her third book! She was first published at age seven. She lives here in Utah with her family. Amazing!
See you day-after-tomorrow for Monday’s Moans
