Easy as A, B, C . . . from CC
I want to petition for another day in a week and days that consist of 48 hours instead of 24. I don’t know about you guys and gals, but I’m not getting my list completed. Christmas is over, but my son decided to marry the day after Christmas and make the lull-after-Christmas not happen for me.
New Year’s Eve arrived with a new grandson: Ryker, 7 lbs 14 oz., 21 ½” long. We did hospital visits, dinners, helping out as a Grandparents should.
Meanwhile, first couple moved in as a newlywed couple: love them, but Chaos began. Expected another grandbaby in the second week of January: delivered a week late: baby Tanecia, 6 lbs 14 oz., 19 ½” long. Moving mom and dad and baby “home,” in a house still full of teenagers, all on heightened hormones, proved to be challenging.
Meanwhile Older daughter and two granddaughters got sick with the flu, as did my unmarried son who lives alone and needed mom’s homemade chicken noodle soup.
Third daughter-in-law not feeling well: due with her second baby in May. Her oldest, five and cute as a bug, wants a doll which grandma needs to make because the doll does not exist: a Ruby Gloom rag doll, which I made come to life from a picture, crocheting its socks and dressing it to perfection.
Two sons, buying homes, needed advice: “What do you think of this one, Mom?” And teenagers who had the whole vacation to do homework now needed Mom’s help. With the clutter of Christmas still not put away, I feel like Elastic Man being pulled in every direction, ready to split into pieces.
I don’t care about New Year’s resolutions: I would like to beg—no, demand—another day in a week and days that consist of 48 hours instead of only 24!
See you day-after-tomorrow for “Wednesday’s WIPS”
